North London Darkroom exhibition

My Grandma, Ann Horn, gave me her darkroom, about 7 years ago and it has been used in all sorts of places including the Shed at Ackroyd drive, the shed at the Whitton workshop residency, the tent at Festibelly (for Pinhole Passport booth) with Chloe Edwards of The Emporium and now, under the stairs in my house. I print very small photographs. I love the smell of the darkroom, the beautiful mistakes, the magic. For Next- to-Nothing (shedpress.org)  I produced 510 original handprinted black and white photographs to be mounted in the 102 books.

The North London Darkroom are celebrating black and white hand-printed photographs in the exhibition ‘Artefacts’ which opens this Thursday at The Rag Factory on Brick Lane. (Private view: 6-9Three sets of my photos were selected for the show. ‘Anna & Elephant’ pictured below was taken in Zimbabwe.
